New York Knicks Close to Signing Robin Lopez on a $54 million

According to Yahoo!Sports, the New York Knicks and center, Robin Lopez, appear close to finalizing contract terms on a $54 million, four-year package, for the 27-year-old veteran. The only the thing that could derail the contract tender would be if free agent, DeAndre Jordan would reject contract offers from the Clippers, Mavericks, or Lakers and sign with the Knicks.

Signing Lopez, would give New York approximately $7.5 million in cap space to round up some bargains, in the latest round of free agents still available, which includes Corey Brewer, power forward with the Houston Rockets.

Should Lopez join the Knicks, he may consider sharing an apartment he with twin brother Brook Lopez, starting center for the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks announced that they have signed Arron Afflalo to a two-year, $16 million contract.
