He tried to soothe the fears of some of his fans by telling them that he wants to resume some of his normal activities over the next few weeks. Lesh has a group called Phil & Friends. Shows for October 24 and 25 have been canceled. It is not known whether other shows are going to be canceled or not, but refunds will be given.

Lesh formed hie group in 1998 a few years after Jerry Garcia died. Garcia was a member of the Grateful Dead. A farewell tour was held over the summer with the other band members. However, Lesh won’t be a part of the new tour slated to start in November. Lesh hopes to begin performing as soon as he recovers from surgery and gets a handle on the cancer.
