Promoting Online Safety For Kids: iRights

iRights

There is one thing positive that the government wants to do to protect children who access the internet. This is a campaign that involves allowing children to delete information that they have posted. It’s almost like children can erase part of their past that they don’t want others to see. This initiative is called iRights. If children don’t want to delete information, they can edit it to make it sound less discriminating.

One reason as to why the government wants to initiate this practice is because it hopes businesses will become partners in protecting children and what they do while online. A goal of the campaign is to teach children that information they post can get in the wrong hands and that it can follow them in the future. There is hope that the government and various companies can create a safer online experience for the younger generation.
