Triple Crown Jockey Victor Espinoza Denies Overusing Whip denies over using the whip on American Pharoh

In a story about the Triple Crown Jockey Victor Espinoza denies over using the whip on the award winning horse American Pharoh. American Pharoh was favored to win the Belmont Stakes completing the Triple Crown. Espinoza made no bones about using the whip when he was confronted about it at a Manhattan cocktail party. Even though Espinoza has faced some criticism he stated that his controversial relationship with the horse works for both parties.

“There’s always going to be haters” was Espinoza’s refrain when confronted by party goers. Espinoza whipped the horse during the final stretches of the Kentucy Derby which the horse won.

This is not Espinoza’s first brush with over whipping horses. A month earlier Espinoza had been fined 300 dollars for whipping a horse and breaking the skin. He also said that “Whipping the horse is not “abusing the horse.” A horse that is in pain will not go forward. He further went on to state that whipping part of the sport.

He said that the horse will be the boss once he comes out of the gate at the Belmont. He further went on to say that the horse is the star and he is the pilot.

Also in attendance at the Manhattan soiree was Sheila Rosenblum who is a well known horse owner. Other party guests included one of the real house wives stars, Epsinoza has been romantically linked with a 19 year old girl, Kelly Kovalchick.
